I encountered the word, recluse when reading about my mystery character.
Following a move to Florida, and his parents divorce by age 16, Depp strayed from his peers and siblings and reclused within a life of drugs and alcohol.
recluse |ˈrekˌloōs; riˈkloōs; ˈrekˌloōz|nouna person who lives a solitary life and tends to avoid other people.
I started to recluse when my friends started to move away to college and I was still in high school.
